Early Bird collection from Cosmo Cricket. "I really, really, really don’t like my alarm clock! I have never been a morning person. When I was a teenager, I could sleep in until 1:00 in the afternoon, no problem! Now that I’m older, I never sleep that late, although I sure would like to try. There’s something written in the parent’s rulebook about being responsible and waking up early to go to work and getting the kids ready for school. I’m not sure when I signed up for that, but it seems to be part of my daily life now. On school mornings, my alarm goes off at 6:00 a.m….way before there’s ever any oxygen in the air. I got so bad about hitting my snooze button that I’ve had to move my alarm clock to the dresser across the room. Then I am forced to get out of bed to turn it off. The bad thing is, as time has gone by, I manage to stumble out of bed, hit snooze (2 or 3 times) and get back in bed without realizing what I’m doing. It’s a bad, bad habit! By the time I get up, it’s usually a mad rush to get everyone ready and out the door on time. I dream of being the type of person who enjoys getting up early to go for a walk or reading quietly before starting her day. I often have good intentions of doing just that. But when the alarm goes off the next morning, I change my mind rather quickly. Too bad I can’t accomplish anything by dreaming about it while burrowing down in my nice, soft bed."
