Who NOT to Call in an Emergency

One perfectly normal evening, I’m washing the dishes when suddenly a glass breaks, slicing my finger open. It was pretty bad.
• Cameron starts to panic & looks like he might pass out from the sight of all that blood.
• Taylor calls his Dad for help but doesn’t give many details and talks too quietly. I don’t think Dad really gets the message.
• 45 minutes later, Travis moseys home. Once there, he tells me what he thinks is a funny story about a car, then disappears. He doesn’t like blood either.
• Meanwhile, I’m trying to stay calm for Cameron’s sake & applying pressure to stop the bleeding. Maybe I was too calm…no one seems concerned.

Months later, I look at my now lumpy and still slightly painful finger and decide that yes, I probably did need stitches.

Next time, I’ll just help myself.
